Ciel

"Zero..."

About a week after Omega was destroyed, Zero was standing on a cliff in the Resistance Base. To be exact, he was on the far left on one of the floors. He was troubled. The Mother Elf was gone. Harpuia, Leviathan, and Fefnir were gone. Even X was gone.

My job is not done, Zero thought. Though Omega was destroyed, the threat that was Dr. Weil was not gone. Soon, he thought. Soon, he will be gone. And maybe, the peace that X had longed for centuries would come.

Zero could hear his own name echoing in his mind. The voice of the Mother Elf, the voice of Ciel, the voices of the Four Guardians, and the voice of Dr. Weil. Zero tried to piece his history together. Ciel had told him that before he was awakened, his legend had passed into myth. By then, some people had forgotten the legend of Mega Man X and his partner, Zero.

Zero's memory frustrated him. His memory refused to let him remember much. He couldn't remember a lot before this body was created. He could only remember a woman. She looked similar to Ciel, but at the same time, he knew it wasn't her. An ancestor?

He heard her voice echoing in his mind.

"I call it....Mega Man...Zero!" This body was named Mega Man Zero, he thought. Named after X? Probably. Zero then remembered when he was re-awakened. He remembered meeting the Resistance. How they couldn't believe that they were meeting the legendary war hero Zero. How they couldn't believe he was actually real. But Ciel believed in him. Whenever he thought about Ciel, he felt a strange feeling. Humans and Reploids knew the emotion well. What was it again? Love.

He loved Ciel subconsciously. He loved her without even knowing it. Ciel was always very affectionate to him. Did she feel the same about him as well? It was very likely. Some of the Resistance Members had also seen this affection. Alouette even asked Zero how he felt for Ciel. Zero would roughly answer that she's a good friend, and he would stop at nothing to protect her. Maybe some people would have heard that the wrong way, but Zero didn't care. As long as she was safe, everything was fine to him.

He tried to get the thought out of his mind, but he couldn't. He loved Ciel too much. Eventually, he realized he was being called. Ciel. What horrible timing. Or perfect timing.

"Zero, there you are! I've been looking everywhere for you!"

As Zero looked back, Ciel was happy. Happy to see him, happy to be with him, or both? Zero rarely made a face other than his monotone/neutral face. He never felt extreme hatred, or extreme happiness. He did feel shocked when Elpizo destroyed X's body, however. But, that was basically it. Zero raised his eyebrows, trying to look less menacing, and more friendly.

"Oh? What is it, Ciel?" He also tried to make sure his voice wasn't intimidating either.

"I was just making sure nothing was bothering you. With the Omega ordeal. And with X."

Zero nodded. "Thanks, Ciel. The world just feels...empty, without X. He won't be able to help us with the menace of Dr. Weil. We're on our own from now on."

Ciel was now standing right next to him now. Zero felt her hand touch his. Zero didn't pull away.

"Zero, X may be gone from this world, but he isn't gone for good. His being has drifted back into Cyberspace, the place where Cyber-elves go when they die. The same goes for Reploids as well. And don't worry, we'll be able to fight Dr. Weil on our own. We have you, Zero."

She inched closer to him. Their feet were practically touching. Zero turned to Ciel's direction, and was surprised by how close her face was to his.

"We can get through this together, Zero..."

Zero inched his face closer to hers. "Ciel, I--"

Before he could finish his sentence, something prevented him from talking any further. Ciel. They were kissing now. Zero didn't know how long he was waiting for this to happen, but he guessed Ciel had been waiting to kiss him for a long time. Ciel considered breaking the kiss, but it had been 5 full seconds and Zero hadn't pushed her away. They continued the kiss for a few more seconds, until Zero gently pulled away.

"Been waiting a long time for that, haven't you?"

Ciel blushed. "Yeah, I have."

Zero kissed her again. He pushed away the fact that he was a Reploid, and she was a human, and Ciel probably did the same. Zero broke the kiss and moved down to Ciel's neck. As he kissed at it, Ciel moaned. She also giggled, as if she were being tickled.

"Z-Zero! Stop, th-that tickles!"

Zero was actually smiling now. He went back to facing Ciel directly.

"Sorry."

As they kissed again, Zero wrapped his arms around Ciel's waist, and hoisted her up, carrying her. Ciel wrapped her arms around Zero's neck to hold on to him, and they were still kissing. Zero walked over to a door with Ciel still in his arms.

He kicked the door, and it opened up for him. Zero walked inside. They were in Ciel's bedroom. The door closed. Maybe they could get some privacy in here. Zero walked backwards towards the front of the bed, and sat down on the bed. Ciel was now sitting on his lap, and Zero broke the kiss as he laid down on the bed. Ciel leaned down towards him, following her lover.

"Zero...I love you." Ciel said, resting her head on his chest.

"And I, you," Zero responded, "I'll always be there for you..."

As she leaned up, Ciel took off her helmet, letting her hair fly out. As they kissed again, Zero tugged at the bottom of her vest, and Ciel leaned back up again, taking it off. More of her black skin-tight bodysuit was showing as she slipped off her skirt as well. As they kissed, Ciel moaned, begging for more from Zero's kiss. She slipped off her gloves and casually tossed them to the ground. Both of the lovers didn't intend for this soft moment to ever end.

I'll always be with you, Ciel. Believe in me...
